Lucknow: Delhi Public School, Shaheedpath, celebrated the 80th Independence Day with immense patriotic fervour, enthusiasm and pride. The celebration witnessed huge participation from students, teachers and members
of the school fraternity, who came together to celebrate the spirit of freedom and pay tribute to the
sacrifices of the nation’s heroes.
The programme commenced with the flag-hoisting ceremony by the CEO, Mrs Swati Pal, followed by
the National Anthem, which resonated across the campus and instilled a deep sense of pride and
patriotism among the gathering. The Principal, Dr Manju Lakhanpal, Vice Principal, Ms Swati Singh
Malhotra, Admission Head, Ms Divya Singh, teachers and students were present on the occasion.
The cultural programme beautifully captured the essence of patriotism through a series of engaging
performances. A soul-stirring patriotic song set the tone for the celebrations, celebrating the glory of the
nation and the sacrifices of its brave hearts. This was followed by an expressive poetry recitation, which
eloquently reflected the values of freedom, courage and love for the motherland.
The dance performance brought vibrancy to the celebrations, with students presenting a captivating blend
of music, movement and patriotic spirit. A powerful Nukkad Natak further enriched the programme,
using the medium of street theatre to convey meaningful messages about patriotism, social responsibility
and the role of young citizens in nation-building. The performance not only entertained the audience but
also encouraged them to reflect upon their responsibilities towards the country.
The CEO, Mrs Swati Pal, addressed the gathering and spoke about the significance of Independence Day,
inspiring students to value the freedom they have inherited and to become responsible, compassionate
and conscientious citizens. Her words motivated the young learners to contribute positively to the
progress of the nation.
Adding a cheerful and celebratory touch to the occasion was the Best Attire competition for teachers.
Dressed in elegant traditional and tricolour-themed outfits, the teachers enthusiastically embraced the
spirit of Independence Day. The Best Attire Awards were presented to the winning teachers, making the
celebration even more memorable.
The programme concluded on a high note, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of patriotism, unity
and pride in the nation. The Independence Day celebration at DPS Shaheedpath was a fitting tribute to
India’s freedom and a reminder that the responsibility of building a stronger and progressive nation rests
